Press Release  Unofficial Translation The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, would like to inform the general public as well as members of national and international media outlets as follows: On Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:25am, the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) coordinated a field visit for the ASEAN Observer Team in Cambodia (AOT-KH), led by the Head of Mission (AOT KH HOM) from the Philippines in conducting an observation, verification, and reporting at Stung Bot International Border Checkpoint located in Stung Bot Village, Phsar Kandal District, Poipet Municipality, Banteay Meanchey Province after the ceasefire came into effect, to ensure the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand in order to promote transparency, mutual trust, and the protection of civilian lives, while moving toward a rapid recovery and the return to normalcy, lasting peace, and stability. The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirm our firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on October 26,  2025, and all other relevant agreements. This commitment is made with the aim of ensuring rapid recovery and restoring normalcy, and long-lasting peace and stability. The public, as well as national and international journalists, are hereby informed of the facts regarding this matter.
